PROBLEM

• The client was frustrated with having to store the family bicycles in a cramped hallway within the house.
• Being situated right beside a bus station, the property lacked the privacy the client desired.
• With a fully paved front garden, there was no green space to enhance the home’s outdoor environment.

SOLUTION

AtlanticBike designed and installed a bespoke storage unit that:

• Houses up to six bicycles within a single compartment, featuring double access doors at both ends.
• Incorporates an inclined roof that not only creates privacy from the bus station but also ensures the roof is visible from the main entrance, adding a striking architectural feature.
• Restores green coverage with an extensive, low-maintenance green roof that is effective all year round.
• Includes a concealed high-security locking system to safeguard the bikes against theft.
• Introduces a colourful accent through a powder-coated matt blue steel frame, complemented by tanalised, pressure-treated timber cladding.

APPROACH

• Custom Design: Developed a made-to-measure compact, linear, single-compartment bike store that maximises the available space without disturbing the existing flower beds in the front garden.
• Material Selection: Constructed from a robust steel shell and clad in durable, pressure-treated timber, chosen for its ability to age gracefully and harmonise with the surrounding landscape.
• Green Roof Installation: Installed an extensive green roof system to enhance local biodiversity and to soften the shed’s appearance within the garden environment.
• Security Features: Integrated AtlanticBike’s Phantom lock system, ensuring high-spec protection against theft.
• Access Design: Included two pairs of doors at both ends of the unit, allowing for effortless and secure access to the storage space.
