PROBLEM

• Our client, undertaking full renovation works to their end-of-terrace home—including the front garden—had no secure, weatherproof storage for their family’s bikes or their three 240-litre wheelie bins.
• Located beside a busy pedestrian access, the property required enhanced privacy and additional bike security.
• Off-the-shelf products didn’t fit the restricted footprint of their front garden.
• The client also wanted to restore the greenery lost to hard landscaping and create a more sustainable outdoor space.

SOLUTION

AtlanticBike designed and installed a bespoke storage unit that:

• Houses four bicycles and three full-size wheelie bins.
• Features an integrated privacy wall, built to eye level and matching the bike store’s design language.
• Incorporates a concealed high-security locking system to safeguard the bikes.
• Restores green coverage with a low-maintenance, all-year-round extensive green roof.
• Blends naturally with its surroundings using a powder-coated matt green steel frame and tanalised, pressure-treated timber cladding.

APPROACH

• Custom Design: Developed a made-to-measure L-shaped layout combining a covered bike store and an open bin store, maximising use of space without compromising accessibility.
• Material Selection: Constructed from a robust steel shell clad in durable, pressure-treated timber, chosen to age gracefully and harmonise with the garden’s setting.
• Green Roof Installation: Installed an extensive green roof system to improve biodiversity, provide thermal insulation, and soften the shed’s presence within the landscape.
• Security Features: Integrated AtlanticBike’s Phantom lock system to deliver high-spec protection against theft.
• Privacy and Usability: Designed the structure to screen off the front garden from public view, ensuring secure, effortless daily use by the whole family.
