PROBLEM

• A London homeowner had a fully paved front garden serving as a driveway for their electric car, with no space for front garden storage or greenery.
• The steep slope of the driveway made standard shed installations unfeasible, as off-the-shelf options couldn't sit level or provide adequate security.
• The homeowner needed to store multiple bikes and gear securely, without compromising car access or the property's aesthetic.​

SOLUTION

• We designed and installed a bespoke, single-compartment bike storage unit with a deep green roof, tailored to the unique constraints of the sloped driveway.
• The unit provided secure storage for multiple bikes and gear, while the 200mm deep green roof reintroduced over 3 square metres of planting space to the property.
• The structure was positioned to maintain full access to the parking space, ensuring functionality without sacrificing aesthetics.​

APPROACH

• Site Preparation: Cleared the area of stubborn weeds and deeply rooted shrubs.
• Custom Foundation: Poured a bespoke concrete base, carefully designed to match the driveway's gradient and colour-matched to blend seamlessly with existing paving.
• Installation: Installed a robust steel enclosure clad in hardwood timber, aligned against the side boundary to preserve parking access.
• Interior Fittings: Equipped the unit with removable shelving and hooks for organized storage of triathlon gear and cycling essentials.
• Green Roof: Constructed a deep green roof capable of supporting a variety of plants, from herbs and vegetables to small trees and flowering shrubs, enhancing biodiversity and visual appeal.​
