PROBLEM

A London homeowner was renovating their front garden, which previously had no greenery.

• A safe, easy-to-use parcel drop box

• Avoid the generic, unattractive look of off-the-shelf products

SOLUTION

Atlanticbike designed and installed a bespoke bin and parcel store that:

• Accommodates two large wheelie bins in a dedicated main compartment.
• Includes a removable shelf to neatly store a food caddy and recycling boxes.
• Features a secure, standing-height parcel box with a combination lock, allowing for easy and safe deliveries.
• Is topped with a low-maintenance sedum green roof, reintroducing greenery and enhancing visual appeal.
• Is positioned flush against the party wall, maintaining full use of the front garden space.
• Uses stained timber cladding, precise proportions and a beautiful sand yellow colour of the metal structure to complement the property's limestone paving and London stock brickwork.
  
  

APPROACH

• Custom Design: Carefully tailored the unit to fit the narrow footprint of the front garden while preserving space for planting and pedestrian access.
• Material Selection: Built using our Verde Plus steel frame for long-term durability, clad in hardwood timber to complement the limestone paving and London stock brickwork.
• Green Roof Installation: Added a sedum green roof system to restore greenery, support biodiversity, and soften the visual impact of the structure.
• Storage Configuration: Designed an internal layout with a large bin compartment, a removable mid-height shelf for recycling and food waste, and a secure, standing-height parcel box for convenient deliveries.
• Accessibility & Placement: Positioned flush against the party wall for minimal intrusion into the garden space, with front-access soft-close doors for ease of use.
