Versatile Bike Store with Dual Access

PROBLEM

We were approached by a London homeowner in Islington who needed a discreet front garden storage solution for:

• Two high handlebar bikes
• One 240L recycling bin

Although her garden was large, the usable area was limited to a narrow strip behind a timber trellis and tall green wall. She wasn’t a gardener, so any planting had to be beautiful and low maintenance.

Her key challenges:

• No off-the-shelf unit could store her tall bikes and bin in such a tight space
• She wanted separate access for bin and bikes within one clean enclosure
• The store had to stay concealed behind the green wall
• Existing clutter and old structures needed to be cleared

SOLUTION

We delivered a single-compartment bespoke Verde Uno, combining both bike and bin storage in one secure unit.

APPROACH

• Site prep: Removed old trellis, cleared waste, and trimmed the green wall
• Baseworks: Laid a new concrete foundation to suit the narrow footprint
• Design: Proposed compact layout with dual-purpose compartment and separate access doors
• Finishes: Suggested the deep red wine powder-coated steel for a refined, subtle touch
• Roof planting: Installed a low-maintenance biodiverse mix ideal for non-gardeners

She now has a refined, compact front garden storage solution that’s easy to use, secure, and elegant—exactly what she needed, and more than she expected.
