A Bespoke Garden Shed & Bike Shelter with Green Roof

I first contacted Atlanticbike after noticing their work on several properties in my neighbourhood. I was in search of a practical solution for a garden shed with a living, green rooftop, and I loved the aesthetics of Atlanticbike's designs. My requirements were specific, and after speaking with the owner I felt confident they could deliver exactly what I needed. The communication and service from the start were excellent.

Initially, I approached them with the idea of a bike shed to store garden furniture, prams, and other items, along with a space for our family bicycle. Given the layout of our garden, I didn’t necessarily need the bike storage to be fully enclosed, as the garden is already quite sheltered. I mentioned this to the team, and they designed a bespoke solution that far exceeded my expectations.

One of the unique aspects of the project was that our bike has a child seat attached, and I didn’t want to be taking it on and off each time we used it. Atlanticbike handled this perfectly, increasing the height of the cover on-site to accommodate it. The fact that they could make this adjustment using their clever adjustable feet was incredibly reassuring. It’s a great example of how they tailored the design to suit my exact needs.

The bike cover itself had to fit into a tight corner of the garden, so the entire structure was customised to make the best use of the available space. To top it off, the green roof spans both the garden shed and the bike cover, adding extra greenery to my garden, which I absolutely love.

In terms of design, the combination of red cedar and the sleek metal structure created something truly elegant. The shed not only fits perfectly into my garden but also enhances the overall aesthetic. I’ve only had it for a month, but I’ve already received countless compliments on the quality and look of the build. I couldn’t be happier with the result.
